On hearing the tragic news that his sister and brother-in-law had suffered a fatal accident, Troy raced to the hospital to take charge of his baby niece, Emily. When Troy arrives at the hospital, he is not permitted to take the baby. He sees Emily in the arms of Amish woman, Wendy Graber. Troy learns that Wendy is the one keeping the baby from him and vows to take her to court. Despite the fact that Wendy shows him proof his sister wanted Emily to be raised by her within the Amish community, Troy sets out to convince Wendy that with his money and connections Emily would have a better life with him.
Wendy struggles with her attraction to Troy knowing that she must focus on defeating him in his quest to take Emily away from her.
With his growing fondness for the quiet Amish woman, will Troy be as ruthless with the lawyers as he had first threatened? Can there be a compromise between their two worlds when the two are convinced that Emily would not thrive in the other's care?
