The Pepper Way — Dawn Brown

Diana Pepper is a detective with the Special Investigations Division of the Wilmington Police Department, the latest brainchild of Homeland Security. After working solo for years, she is notified that she will now be saddled with a new, young detective, JD Bradley. On the same day she receives that less than good news, she is tossed a case that is filled with accidents, suspicious deaths, and one suicide. It becomes obviously clear to Pepper and Bradley that this case is more than it seems. Along the way, she receives aid from an unexpected source: a PI out of Virginia, Donovan McEntyre. She starts to feel something developing with McEntyre and then she is blindsided by a major health crisis. When all is said and done, Pepper's life will change, but will it be for the better, or the worse?
