Whoever thought that in Assen nothing ever happened has got it all wrong! Kim is a member of a group eight of the Rembrandt School in Assen. With her girls in the class, they form a baseball team that beats many boys' team. She cannot imagine that they will be caught in an evening of turbulent change. Aleid Arends and Yara van Boven were born six years apart in Rotterdam. Almost every year, they went on holidays together. From the moment that they could read, they became fond of reading stories. Along with Aleid's father, they made up stories and little plays that they performed other people. To make their parting ways bearable, they invented John Arends: The Mystery of the Secret formula. Aleid and Yara are both in the third year of secondary school. Aleid in Groningen, and Yara in Leiden. The fictional John Arends is a writer and poet, psychiatrist and scientist.
