When the Bobbsey Twins set off to visit a famous museum in Washington, D.C., they find themselves on the trail of an intriguing mystery that begins with a laughing dinosaur! They pay little attention to it until Flossie makes a puzzling discovery that involves two scheming men. One of them says he's looking for George Washington!

A recent theft from a special exhibit causes the young detectives to wonder if the men are connected. But the idea is quickly forgotten as a mischievous suspect reveals himself and the search for a missing iguana gets underway, leading to more than one amazing recovery!
