The author of The Hangman's Row Enquiry presents a brand new mystery, as cantankerous spinster Ivy Beasley finds that spending her golden years in the quaint village of Barrington won't be as quiet as she thought.

Ivy hasn't been in assisted living at Springfields for long, and she's already found new friends, formed a detective agency called Enquire Within and solved a murder. Now, as autumn falls, Ivy and her team -- Roy, Deidre and Gus -- have more mysteries to solve in between card games.

Enquire Within has been asked to look into a murder in the village of Measby -- a crime that, to Ivy's surprise, hasn't shown up in the papers yet. Similarly intriguing is the new Springfields resident, Mrs. Alwen Wilson Jones, who claims she was conned out of a large sum of money.
