Michael Bannerman could remember just a few months of his life, and during most of that time he had been living in a small locked room at the Institute.
For the past two months he had been in the community, trying to recover his mind. What he did not know was that every room in his flat was fitted with CCTV.
He was the victim of a traffic accident, he had been told. But the regular nightmares suggested a different story, a story of violence in an African country gripped by civil war.
