When Arnold, one of Ms. Frizzle's students, finds a small foxlike animal with huge ears in the lost and found, he and the rest of the class join the Friz on a rollicking round-the-world trip in search of the animal's habitat. They visit six different habitats: the Arctic, the North American temperate forest, the African grasslands, the Amazon rain forest, wetlands, and desert. While visiting each habitat, they look at the characteristics of animals thatlive there to determine if the habitat is appropriate for their animal friend.
