Sydney Boutilier, an eighth grade teacher, meets Chad Wyllie, a businessman and ex-professional hockey player. Their mutual interest in hockey draws them together but it also pushes them apart. Chad favors a rough, macho hockey style. Sydney argues for skill and sportsmanship. When she becomes a minor hockey coach, she puts her ideas into practice.
Chad finds himself protecting Sydney when she comes up against parents who favor Chad's kind of hockey. Finally, he encourages her to give up coaching.
Indignant, she challenges him to a shootout: She'll be the goalie.
Can they put their differences on ice long enough to discover that they're meant for one another, or will they continue to play the love game?
