The Long Afternoon — Ursula Zilinsky

Three young men raise their glasses in toast on a summer's day in 1914. Not even a rumor of war can quell their high spirits -- until a war declares them enemies. Set from 1900-1920s, the changing fortunes of three families are told through their sons -- British aristocrat Toby, German industrial heir Felix, and David, the son of a poor English vicar.
