According to the Bible, Jesus Christ was resurrected three days after his crucifixion. For millennia, the faithful have often wondered, what happened during those three days?
The Lion and the Lamb is an epic Christian fantasy that begins with Christ's crucifixion. After he breathes his last, Jesus wakes up in the last place you would expect: Hades. He's not there to be punished, of course, but to save as many doomed souls as he can.
With the help of a boatman named Allon and a warrior queen called the Toolmaker, Jesus wades through a sea of torment, confronts rabid hellhounds, and battles hordes of demons -- all with the knowledge that if he dies in Hades, it will be as if he never existed. Along the way they discover an evil plot to conquer heaven, and Jesus must use every weapon in hell's arsenal to stop it.
Most of us think of Jesus as a symbol of peace, wisdom, and virtue, but he's much more. When he finally confronts Satan, the Son of God must find his inner holy warrior and prove that he is as much lion as lamb.
