The Legend — M.I. Quandour

The year 2000 marked the 250th anniversary of the English thoroughbred, the fastest and most expensive horse in the world today. Its primary progenitor was an Arabian stallion imported into England during the middle of the 18th century, later known as the Godolphin Arabian. A controversy arose during the 19th century concerning the origins of this legendary stallion, a controversy which has not been settled to this day. The Legend is a modern story of the attempts to resolve the issue of the Godolphin and to celebrate the birth-date of the British thoroughbred with a Millennium race. It is a story of love, drama, conflict and intrigue. The stakes are high but made even higher by romance and material greed.
