When kindergarten teacher Chelsey James takes a job as a counselor at Whistler's Lake Girl's Camp, she thinks she's in for a summer of fun and relaxation. Even the local rumors about the evil attached to the opulent north shore of Whistler's Lake and its four abandoned mansions, which had fallen on unhappy times, seem to be only the fascinating basis of Chelsey's charges is stranded in the boathouse of Swan's Gate for a few hours.
After Chelsey rescues the girl, strange things begin to happen. The sheriff thinks Chelsey is imagining them, but handsome Trent Whiteside seems to believe her. Why, then, does Trent discourage her from trying to prove her suspicions to the sheriff? Does it having anything to do with the fact that he was mysteriously close by the dark, frightening night that she made her escape from Swan's Gate?
