Within and beyond our world is the Land of Faerie. Ruled by magic, royalty, and tradition, it is a place of romance and beauty, feasting and frolic, trickery and danger. Some enter that country and never return. Others return but are never the same.
When sixteen-year-old Gwen arrives in Ireland for a summer of backpacking with her Irish cousin Findabhair, she expects only the usual road-trip excitement: late nights, interesting strangers, and no parents. She does not expect to do battle with the King of Faerie himself.
The king, searching for a human bride, kidnaps Findabhair in the night. And it is up to Gwen, alone in a different country, to chase the fairy court across Ireland, trying to outwit the masters of trickery. But will all her bravery and resourcefulness be enough to save her cousin . . . or herself?
