Despite a penchant for reading extravagant romances, Miss Pamela Caldwell was a most sensible young lady. She knew for instance, that her upcoming marriage to her dear childhood friend, good-looking, pleasant Tom Bellair, so earnestly desired by both their families, was quite the best thing that could happen to her.
