It is 1969 in Ireland and Catholic protestors are marching for jobs and the right to vote.
Sean O'Donnell and Patrick Murphy are rock solid friends and blood brothers growing up together in the British province of Ulster in Northern Ireland. Sean moves to the Republic of Ireland and joins the Irish police called the Garda and courts the beautiful Eileen. Pat stays in Ulster and secretly becomes a member of the Irish Republican Army, the IRA.
One night Pat crosses south over the border into the Republic of Ireland to buy arms. Sean risks his own life to secretly warn Pat of a Garda raid. But now Sean is fearful of discovery by the Garda and the loss of Eileen. But, should the Garda learn that Sean is betraying them, Sean will be imprisoned and Eileen will learn about Sean's secret life! Will the friendship and love Sean and Eileen have for each other survive torture, betrayal, lust, and revenge?
