Elizabeth Englin was not the Betsy he remembered
When Grady Logan arrived in Chicago he didn't expect to find a woman managing the prestigious Englin Hotel--certainly not the one woman he remembered with nothing but bitterness.
As for Elizabeth, the last thing she wanted was to see Grady again. He stirred up too many memories and brought back too much pain. She had built a life to her own satisfaction and it was centered firmly on the hotel and her small son.
So why wouldn't Grady go away and stop tormenting her for things that had been his fault?
