Olivia and her sister Molly grew up in a trailer park in a small resort town called Happy Endings, but their life together was far from happy.
When the unthinkable happens, Olivia must learn how to live without the person she loves the most and she is forced to keep secrets that she buries deep within.
Thirteen years later, an accidental collision gives Olivia the chance to finally experience love with Danny, who promises to always protect her. As Olivia and Danny build a life together she is suddenly forced to face a past she has struggled to forget.
Can Olivia find the strength within to save herself or will she lose everything, in Part One of The Good One?
Jennifer Sivec's characters are often damaged and scarred but not completely broken. Olivia is no exception. The Good One hooked me on the first page and the last page left me wishing for more. Painful memories of a past that have left Olivia wondering if she can ever be truly happy and desperately missing the one person that was always there to protect her as a child, a need to keep family secrets, and a chance at a life she never thought she could have all combine to bring her to a point where answers are needed, truths must be faced, and a young girls memories may not be what they seem. With the The Good One as part one I can't wait to see what part two brings.
Jennifer Sivec held me hostage into the wee hours of the night. I couldn't stop reading. The Good One is definitely a good one!
Wow! Man, I'll get it out eventually. Maybe. If you're looking for a fast paced, adrenaline fueled, heart pounding, pulse racing read, congratulations my friends you've found it. With twists, turns and unpredictable surprises I was totally immersed and frozen on the edge of my seat. The realism of the characters and scenes totally floored me. I was drawn in from the start. This is one read that will cut to the core. Make no mistake this is a true to life read. You hang on every emotion and pray for a reprieve that doesn't seem forthcoming. I watched mesmerized as the characters and their personalities transformed and blended. It's a gut wretching and heartbreaking read. I don't know what Jennifer used as inspiration but it had to take a lot strength to write this tale. Fantastic job Jennifer and thanks for sharing.
