The Good Boy — Sean Patrick O'Mordha

At sixteen, Jessup McKuen starts a handyman business in a small rural community to support him and his mother after his alcoholic father commits suicide in his presence. When his mother runs off with another man, Jessup is left alone to support himself. Over the next three years most of the small town community likes Jessup—his work ethic and handyman skills. Of course, there are those who don't like him because of his drinking and marijuana use. Then, there are those who like him for his erotic skills—lonely, needy women. The Town Marshall understands the boy's emotional problems. Witnessing a violent death, abandoned, the boy's mind is a mess complicated by drugs. The Marshall and has tried to guide him along a less destructive path. Still, Jessup is a law-abiding member of the community leaving the Marshall with persuation as his only recourse. Jessup never works or drives under the influence, and his promiscuous visits are respectfully discrete until one summer morning.
