The Golden Stag — David Spencer

This story takes place circa 673 BC, on the Steppes of Southern Russia, and in the Assyrian capital of Nineveh. It centers on the marriage-alliance between the daughter of the Assyrian King Esarhaddon and the Scythian (ancient Iranian) King Bartatua. The common enemy of the Assyrians and the Scythians of the time are the Medes (ancient Persians).
