The Gold Bag — Carolyn Wells

When millionaire Joseph Crawford  is slain in the study of his New Jersey home the only physical evidence the police have to go on is a small gold bag left at the crime scene. Suspicion falls on the dead man's niece, Florence, who admits to having once owned a similar bag and who stands to inherit the bulk of Crawford's fortune.
