The Fairy Bridge on the Isle of Man is a famous location. Locals and visitors always say 'Hello Fairies' as they pass by. It is good luck to do so. If you don't acknowledge the 'little people' there are stories of bad things happening such as a flat tyre or the breakdown of your car, you may lose your keys, fall over, miss your flight at the nearby Airport or be left behind by the ferry, the only ways to leave our Isle! There are numerous other stories told over the years. T.T. Motorcycle fans always visit during the annual races held in June. They leave fairy letters for their loved ones and hang gifts on the trees for the little folk. The bike racers themselves are known to take a moment at the Fairy Bridge to ask the fairies to look after them as they whizz round the island at 180mph! The little people or mooinjerveggey (Manx Gaelic) as they are known, are an integral part of the local myth and legend. The power of believing is held in high regard on this mystical island.
Letters are sent all over the world from the magical fairies (with a little help from me the Fairy Godmother) and fairy dust is enclosed so you can make a wish! All the stories in this book are about the little folk, and their lives and adventures on the Isle of Man. The imagination of your children, will hopefully be captured by these fun and lighthearted tales of the fairy folk on our magical Isle. Perhaps you would like to join them?
