Angie's life takes a desperate turn when her husband Jimmy suffers a brain injury in a car accident. After a lot of soul-searching, she makes the tough decision to give up her home, and take a temporary in-home position looking after an elderly lady. Fortunately, Miss Marti's cottage is warm and welcoming, and much closer to the VA hospital where Jimmy is. Unfortunately, Angie's ten-year-old daughter, Megan, is angry about everything.
Miss Marti and Megan become fast friends when the eccentric old lady introduces the troubled tween to the faerie mound in her backyard, a place where she insists magic happens. But can Megan's capacity to believe bring magic into Angie's and her situation?
A SHORT STORY by award-winning novelist, S. K. McClafferty, aka Selina MacPherson, and Sue McKay.
