In an unfortunate quirk of fate Terri Landon's foster mother, Marion, died just before she was about to legally adopt Terri as her daughter. Though Terri inherited everything from Marion, including her precious jewels and large house in a fashionable section of San Francisco, she was alone in the world-and vulnerable. When a couple presented themselves to Terri as Rodney and Joyce Landon, she sensed danger. Rodney Landon claimed to be the nephew of Terri's long deceased foster father and therefore the rightful heir to the estate. Knowing that she must act quickly to protect her inheritance, Terri seeks the aid of the family lawyer, whose son, Greg Fremont, decides to become Terri's visiting boyfriend for a few days to look into the matter.
