SWIFTLY DEAD
The wealthy, eccentric keeper of Dublin's famed Marsh's Library, Brian Herrick was a man unhealthily obsessed--with the writings of master 19th-century Irish satirist Jonathan Swift ... and with pleasures of a more licentious nature. And now he has fallen victim to his own excesses--his final naked debauch and murder by poison painfully preserved on videotape. Even the normally unruffled Chief Superintendent Peter McGarr is shocked by the shameless predeath activities of this golden-curled misanthrope. And with forgery, pornography and rare book theft thrown into the mix, the question becomes not so much who wanted Herrick dead--but rather who got to him first.
