Doctor Marcus Quigley, qualified dental surgeon, gambler and sometime bounty hunter has gradually been working his way west. His reasons for choosing such a lifestyle are personal and pressing, as well as expedient, for there is someone he means to track down and hold to account for a murder committed some years previously.


In THE COVERED TRAIL Doc Marcus Quigley is wearing his bounty hunter hat as he tracks down a couple of desperate characters. Once he has taken care of them he reverts to his normal occupation as a dental surgeon, only to find himself the victim of an outrageous crime. Yet it is no ordinary crime and he soon finds out that there is good reason why a gang of robbers have gone to inordinate lengths to cover their trail. Not only that, but he is anxious to follow up a lead about a murderer that he has been pursuing for several years.
