Eli's first day of kindergarten marked the beginning of a new life for Ava. She couldn't wait to tell Shelby the good news. "I finally did it!" she exclaimed. "For the last five years, I've been doing a crazy amount of soul searching, trying to figure out who I've become and what I'm supposed to do." "So, my dear Ava, what did you figure out?" Shelby asked with a smile. "My destiny is to end all war," Ava said. Shelby looked confused. For a moment, Ava wished he could read her mind so she wouldn't have to explain everything-but her daydreams about that sort of thing were done now. "I can't wait to hear how you came to that conclusion," Shelby said. "Come. Let's sit together like we used to before we were married-and you can tell me your dreams. I've been waiting a long time for that gal to come back to me. Where have you been?" Ava sat down and draped her legs over his. She looked into his eyes. "I'm here now," she said. "And it's love, baby. That's how I figured it out-it's all about love." "Love, ah?" Shelby's deep, romantic voice was inviting. "Tell me more." "Have you ever heard of the code, 41 and 81, 67 and 65, 10 and 94, 6?" "No," Shelby thought about the numbers for a moment. "You know how I lovemath. Let's start from the beginning. I want to hear everything!" He kissed her cheek out of excitement and then, snuggled into her preparing to hear Ava's entire story. The Code of Deliverance, the final book in the Code trilogy, brings Ava to a point she'd never imagined she'd reach, even in her wildest daydreams: at peace with the past, accepting of her life, and happy with her ultimate destiny.
