The Circassian Lawrence — M.I. Quandour

This is the story of Esref Kuşçubaşı, the Circassian adventurer who was often called 'The Turkish Lawrence of Arabia'. I prefer to call him as "The Circassian Lawrence of Arabia" because he was born a Circassian. His story is little known outside of Turkey; even less known by the Circassian nation both at home and in the Diaspora. Never far from the action or controversy, Eşref's remarkable story provides an important counterpoint to the standard narrative
