THE TIME: Victorian England in the year 1883.
THE PLACE: The North Country, on a vast estate called Houndstooth, where strange and diabolic happenings are rumored to occur.
THE HEROINE: Marjorie Latham, only 21, yet called upon to deal with what appears to be a case of Satanic possession-which poses a threat of her life. The two men who enter her life seem unable to help her.
