The Case of the Missing Sideboard
Felicia Cartright, a petite blonde who is one of the most popular students at the Wellington School for Girls, has a surprising inclination toward mysteries. If a mysterious situation arises it either makes its way to Felicia, or Felicia somehow finds it. Though this is a bit trying for her happy-go-lucky room-mate, Joan Bailey, it does prevent life from becoming monotonous. In this episode, Felicia and Joan make a trip to Maine to track down a very valuable piece of antique furniture that had been willed to their school.

"Blow out that light, and come here."
She opened the window when Joan had blown out the lamp and, loosening the screen, she thrust her head out to look along the side of the darkened house.
"What do you see?" Joan asked.
"I thought I saw a light shining on the ground at the front of the house," Gretchen replied after a moment or two. "But I could have been mistaken."
They watched in silence for a minute or two.
"I can see it now," Joan said. "Look over there.
Even as they watched it went out again, leaving the house in darkness.
"Somebody's over in the front part of the house," Gretchen whispered tensely. "They've got a flashlight, and are going from room to room."
"That could only be Herman and Clarissa, Felicia observed. "Nobody else would dare to go into the house when they were in there sleeping."
"Why do you suppose they're going around like that?" Joan asked. "If they moved the sideboard the other night why would they still be hunting around in the house? Do you suppose we were mistaken about that affair the other night? Could that sideboard still be in the house?"
"That's one of the things that we'll have to find out," answered Felicia.
