The Canaries — Jonathan Richards

The year is 2146 and the term 'Canaries' refers to death-row convicts sent into hostile situations by the military. When a geological surveying station comes under attack a Canary team is sent in, but the survivors soon learn they have more to fear from the Canaries than the creature attacking them.
