The local residents were convinced that the recluse on Lily Pad Lake was a jilted lover, or possibly a fugitive. Tom Grant's nearest neighbors were an older couple who lived across the lake. When their daughter Natalie, a beautiful young lawyer from New York, visited, she suspected that there was more to Grant than he wanted his neighbors to know.
