Twins, Karma and Manly, and little brother Cayce live in constant fear of "the beast", step-dad Burt, who has a gun and threatens to use it. They dream of a time when they can have a real house of their own, and a normal life, but that doesn't seem possible with their mother so afraid of Burt she cowers in his presence. Then a small miracle occurs, and the family sees what may be their only chance to escape from this nightmare. So they seize the moment and run for their lives. But is it too good to be true?
