Mike Faraday is fighting for his life. The wise-cracking L.A. private investigator is up against a syndicate who plan to wipe him out - for no apparent reason. It starts with the corpse of the Mayor being dumped in his car. Mike, with Stella's help, hides out at Pine Lake, where he meets one of his inimitable blondes, Julie Nordstrom.
