Thane looked up at the clock on the wall and sighed. 1:32 am. The bar would be closing in twenty eight minutes, and Thane still hadn't had enough to drink.
Not nearly enough. He needed to forget her.
Anything to forget her.
He looked down past the end of the bar at a pretty blond sitting in the corner. Not his type at all, thin and lithe, with hair that came out of a bottle. Her polar opposite.
She'd do.
“Ralph, give the lady a drink. On me.” He paid the man and then waited.
Ralph knew his game. He had seen it a thousand times since he moved to this little hamlet, but he never asked him about it.
That was why Thane kept coming back.
