Lance Gordan is on a mission: to bring his Uncle Ephraim and the money he stole back to the small New Mexican town they live in. His search leads him to Jubilee, Arizona, the last place his uncle can be traced. Because he has no further leads, Lance decides to stay a while and look around, fearing the worst for his uncle. But once he has a run-in with a gang member who tries to bushwhack him, Lance realizes he's in for more than he bargained for. Later, after the death of the local marshal and a heroic display on Lance's part, he reluctantly accepts the job as new marshal.
Slowly Lance learns of Captain Martin Kidd, the dangerous owner of The Pirate's Den: a place where single drovers and cowhands somehow come to a deadly end.
Lance spots his uncle's horse with one of Kidd's men and decides that taking Captain Kidd and his men down is now a personal mission. But Lance isn't the only one looking to exact revenge on Kidd. He must prove Kidd's evil doings and bring him in before someone else can kill him.
