This book is a novel based primarily on the personal experiences of the author in combat with the First Marine Division in Korea. It is set against the majestic mountains of North Korea and seen through the eyes of battalion surgeon Dr. Jack Lord. The battles, the wounded and the dead, the humor, the pathos, the bunkers and the trenches, are made real as the Navy corpsmen and doctors live up to their own ideals as well as the esprit de corps of the Marines.
