Home to Arcadia, yet Arcadia has never been home to the Gentle Stepper. Ju-Dan is the Gentle Stepper and she's now dragooned into a series of harrowing errands in a land she's never seen before. The hand of the Divine is at work, and Ju-Dan is ever a pawn in that game. The missions are dangerous, and the rewards seem slim as the escapades escalate with duels to be fought and fools to be rescued. Kingdoms are facing calamity, and monarchs are moved to seek aid in the most desperate ways: calling on the exalted sword-maiden princess, Ju-Dan. The land of Arcadia is in crisis: Sorcerers operate openly, innocents are indiscriminately victimized, and fiends are never far from perpetrating their next evil scheme. It is also people's hearts that are in conflict, and the distressed are not above running off into the night, falling into the clutches of creatures nocturnal, and who is going to rescue them then?
