Have you ever wondered what you'd ask for if someone granted you three wishes? That's what happened to Susanah. You'd think a seven-year-old girl wouldn't have a care in the world on a beautiful summer afternoon when she's out in a boat with her grandfather, Champ, and his Cocker Spaniel, Payson. A light breeze is keeping them cool, while they get a suntan. The little outboard motor putters along, pushing their sailboat toward an island where they'll land, have a picnic and go exploring. Susanah discovers a frog among the dead leaves in the bottom of the boat--not just a cute little frog but a tree frog that is an unusual white color. And this frog can talk! Susanah and Champ are astounded and Susanah wants to take him home as a pet. But this grumpy, bass-voiced frog has other ideas. He promises if she'll set him free, unharmed, in the woods of a nearby island, he'll grant her three wishes. What will she wish for? And what are her grandfather, and his dog, Payson, going to do with Susanah & the Frog?
