It had taken Sandy Stafford six years to graduate from music school, but with her Aunt Lotia's help, she had finally acquired the necessary diploma and was soon to begin teaching music in Chicago. But her dream was short-lived. Discovering that Aunt Lotia suffered a mild heart condition, Sandy felt bound to remain at home.
With the help of her Aunt Lotia, Sandy Stafford graduated from music school and planned to teach music in Chicago. But returning to Brunston, Sandy discovered that her aunt was suffering from a heart condition and felt bound to give up her plans, despite the fact that Aunt Lotia had taken in a boarder, Dave Miller, who taught at the high school and helped around the house.
