Charlie Clark, Emma Guthrie, and Lindsey Munson are three ten-year-old girls who know what they don't want to be -- ballerinas! When Charlie's mom enrolls them in Miss Claudine's School of Ballet at the local mall, Emma and Lindsey vow never to speak to Charlie, and Charlie vows she'll never forgive her mother.

The first class is even worse than Charlie expected. And she can't believe it when she sees Emma and Lindsey sneaking out of class and into the crowded mall. Charlie knows it's up to her to track them down -- before Miss Claudine discovers they're gone!
