It all began when a very hung over Cole January stepped out of a warm bed and onto a stone-cold corpse -- a beautiful blonde in a slinky number that would have done his male ego proud if she had a pulse.

She is identified as Molly Jones-Heitkamp. That is, until the real and remarkably alive Ms. Jones-Heitkamp asks January to find out who's trying to kill her. So who's the gorgeous stiff? And who's trying to frame Cole?

The answers take him to Houston's mayoralty race, as well as the dirty laundry of some prominent citizens. Cole begins to wish he'd stuck to insurance fraud, because murder was becoming bad for his health.
