Spying on Fishback is no "Gone With the Wind." "Away With the Breeze," maybe. What this book truly does is define one family's life and defy good sense. It has all the elements: jokes, vestiges of the afterlife, hope, a Ripley collection of characters if there ever was one. The father-son connection is sensitive, amusing, and sympathetic. The husband-wife interaction is honest, frightening, and downright weird. Fenwick, his wife, Woof, Tommy, Joe and some tuna thieves will not let you up or down.
