Kusini is a sorceress who wanders the Serengeti for centuries in search of the answer to an ancient question. Traveling alone through the wilderness, and through time, she avoids capture by witchdoctors who would commit murder to create their potions. She endures the ugliness of civil wars, and love allows her to restore a lost martyr who will accompany her to salvation. Within the cradle of life, she will prepare for a final battle in which she must try to rescue the weak from the growing evil fed by the Morningstar, which had a hand in her own creation.
