Jenny receives a letter from her estranged father, the contents of which would force her to make a potentially life-changing decision. What could have happened to compel her father to contact her now after five years without a word? And the photographs he enclosed - could she really believe her eyes?

Stephen E Pennykid was born in Leicester in 1952. He is now retired and lives in Loughborough. This is the first of four short stories he has written since his retirement. The other three will be available in the next few months.
