Bennet Young makes award-winning documentaries; Jenny Blakemore and her accident-disabled father craft elaborate dollhouses for serious collectors. Their paths cross at a major miniature show, causing all kinds of sparks.
Bennet's charming and wealthy mother decides she wants a miniature replica of Birney House, one of her family homes. Bennet isn't so sure that the project is a good idea, but as he and Jenny spend more time together, an inevitable attraction begins to blossom.
Jenny is puzzled because her father's condition is mysteriously worsening. Equally baffling are a missing portrait, an unexplained ghostly inhabitant at Birney House, and eventually even a disappearing dollhouse. Untangling all these puzzles leads to more than one unexpected danger -- and, perhaps, to a large-scale romance.
