Second Impressions
When Slocum first met his head honcho's daughter, Mariah, she was no bigger than a half-pint. More rambunctious than an untamed Appy, the little girl became fast friends with Slocum. But when the daring Mariah went missing, he figured she'd gone to see the world. And he figured right: she'd up and left, with nothing but four dollars and a hunger for adventure.
Now, nine years later, Slocum's hot on the trail of one low-down con man passing himself off as mining magnate Burke Crowley. This louse wants it all, and will stop at nothing until he monopolizes the whole mining town, including Bent Fork's only bordello. One day, dining at the house, Slocum recognizes the little girl he once knew, now the voluptuous but distressed Madam Mariah. After the two reminisce some, Slocum is ready to turn the tables on Crowley. That is, if he can take on Crowley, his henchmen, and a mysterious but powerful company back East...
