A gang of long-term professional criminals realise that they are growing older, and that sooner or later they won't be able to pull off the jobs on which their income has always depended. Together, they work out that their best long term solution will be to buy their own retirement home, hire and fire the carers they want, and live in safety and comfort for however much time they've got left. As they raise the money they need and move in, the retirement home begins to serve as a rescue centre for people with desperate, life-threatening problems. What strange psychological forces change a crime gang into altruistic rescuers, liberators and redeemers? And what are the consequences?
