A policeman can stumble across all sorts of strange things in his job, and David is no exception. However, what confronts him now takes 'extraordinary' to a whole new level. First of all, his partner, Carl, a confirmed chauvinist, has fallen in love, and miraculously changed into a sensitive new age male. And then along comes Vanish, the feral street orphan, with his pet. And what an amazing and bizarre pet it turns out to be! If this wasn't enough, there's Simone, a small waif of the female persuasion, and a friend of Vanish. Now, Simone appears too be a little strange. Extremely strange, as it so happens. She possesses amazing abilities, one of which soon proves to be intimately invaluable to David. But all is not well. Apparently, the missing magic book has a new owner, and no one is quite sure what will happen. It's up to David, Carl, Vanish, Mel and Simone to track it down and prevent the owner from unleashing a new horror on the city.
