LEADVILLE, COLORADO 1879
SILVER IN THE HILLS, FIRE IN THE SKY, BLOOD IN THE STREETS
Morgan Douglass, a tough and sinewy prospector down on his luck, thought his troubles were over when he struck a rich vein of silver in the hills outside the boomtown of Leadville. He didn't reckon with the all-powerful silver king Jason Kraegle and his hardcase henchmen, who made the streets of the town run with blood. Nor did Douglass reckon with the mysterious Ute Indian Medicine Man, Fire in the Sky, who predicted death and disaster for every white man, woman and child in the territory.
In the end, it was two powerful women, tiny, redheaded Laurie and tall, black-haired Alice, in whose slender hands rested both the fate of Morgan Douglass and the destiny of turbulent Leadville, Colorado.
