Moments before he is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention at Madison Square Garden, Oklahoma Governor Buffalo Joe Hayman falls ill. Life is never the same for One-Eyed Mack, the lieutenant governor who steps in to deliver the 29-minute speech that concludes with an appeal for the return of the state's missing mummy. Suddenly Mack's name is being passed around as a possible vice-president.
